The hole is done
Wednesday, December 29th, 2004Hot Tub Update
Tuesday, December 28th, 2004So I’ve started digging out an area for the hot tub. I’m going to put down gravel layer, then paper, then a sand layer and then the pavers. I’m almost done with the hole, just another 3×12 foot section. I just ordered the owners manual from JW Enterprises in California so someone will be able to hook up the tub for me.
Soon I’ll have a toasty warm tub to hang out in.

My New Ride
Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004I saw an older bike for sale on craigslist, so I decided to get it. Here it is. While it looks a little rusty and dirty now, after a bath or two and some grease, it will be like a new shiny nickel. Ron had the great idea of getting the metal chromed out. If it’s not too spendy I think that’ll do just fine.

Hot Tub is here
Monday, December 13th, 2004On Saturday I got my hot tub. It’s currently hanging out in my driveway until I get some electricity to it and put in a new heater element. That and some lifeguards.

Camera Phone
Friday, December 10th, 2004Since getting my new phone that came with a so-so camera, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with the camera. I decided to be like everyone else and make a moblog and post pictures as I take them.
Flickr.com has a nice site that allows you to upload pictures by phone (among other ways) and provides nifty utilities to organize your pictures. There is even a set of tools that allow you to retrieve your flickr pictures programatically and put them into your normal blog – like this one. I’ll have to do that later.
Until then, my pictures are going here
Hot Tub!
Thursday, December 9th, 2004Last night I drove up to Vancouver to look at a hot tub that a guy on craigslist was selling. I had measured the passage between my house and the garage and it was 38″ wide and 7′ tall. When I saw the tub I measured it and it was 37″ wide and just under 7′ long.
The owner showed me what had to be fixed – the heater element and a little bit of piping. It looks pretty doable, especially if I can snag someone to do it for me.
It’s being delivered on Saturday morning and if I get in gear I could have it up and running in a week or two.
Karma
Wednesday, December 8th, 2004Last night I was looking around my house and couldn’t find my car keys. I usually leave them by the door – like most people. But they were no where to be found. I had the idea I might have left them in the car, which doesn’t make sense because how would I have gotten *into* my house? So I open the front door and see my keys dangling from my lock. I had left them in since the previous night. Either I live in the best neighborhood or I just used up all of my good karma.
