W32.Blaster.Worm

Last week I got deluged with tons of virus emails, along with everyone else I suppose. Tonight I got the Blaster Worm on my system. Windows would notify me that it had an RPC error and was rebooting, and my machine would randomly reboot. I spent an hour or two getting patches and cleaners. Quite a pain on a 28.8Kbps connection.

Howdy,

It's hard to tell which worm/virus you have. But if it is the blaster worm, you need to do the following:

1) got to -> http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp and download

the patch for your windows OS.

2) reboot

3) go to -> http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

and follow the directions. (Download tool and run it. It'll take a while) 4) reboot

that should clear your system of the blaster worm.

hope it helps
