We got some snow over the last day or so (ho-ho-ho.) I drove into work today so I can bail to the coast and do some sun bathing. It's the first time my car has been in real snow (for me at least.)
I got some Hokey Spokes for Christmas. I put them on my bike and rode on into work today (through the snow) and they seem to work just right. I have them saying "Merry X Mas" to anyone on the left side of my bike.
I also finally saw a good movie, Lost in Translation. It was really well done and Murray did an excellent job, so did Johansson. It was nice to see a well done movie that wasn't just about CG and a crappy storyline.
At work today I had to fill out a security clearance questioneer, listing my jobs and felonys and where I've lived. Like who remembers where they lived in college? And I had to figure out my Selective Service #, which you can get by calling 1-847-688-6888.
I went out climbing with some new people last night at the PRG. They've added quite a bit of new rock onto the wall, making it easier to get up. But now they have taped routes (showing you which way to go.) I did my first taped route last night, it was a 5.7, I mean 5.12. It was much harder to follow the little taped marks, but more fun when you get to the top.
Last night I got my new 48 spoke tandem rear wheel. It's being fitted to my bike today, I'm getting a new chain and cassette after 2000+ miles. It's not as heavy as I had thought, but it looks pretty nice. Hopefully I won't be getting any broken spokes with this baby.
I finally saw a good movie in the theatre, Last of the Samurai. I've always thought Japan was interesting, and it was neat to see scenery of old Japan. Cruise did a good job acting, though I did expect him to say "Hello, I'm looking for my wife.", but he didn't. There was a lot of action, and if you don't like blood and violence, then this isn't the movie for you.
This weekend I finally got my online book place (samazon, get it?) working on the internet. I was using digital space for my java hosting, but mycgiserver finally came through with WAR deployment, so I'm trying them out. It works pretty well, until this morning when the main server was down, which makes me wonder about the stability - but it's free.
In any case, here is the webpage. I don't have many books or authors up yet, it takes time to scan in pictures and such.
